1. Log in and set your own password
When your company added you, Leavly emailed you a temporary password and a login link. Sign in, then go to Profile to set a password only you know.
2. Check your leave balance
Your dashboard shows how many days you have left in each leave type your company tracks — vacation, sick, and whatever else has been set up.
3. Submit a request
Go to New Request, pick a leave type and your dates. For less than a full day — a doctor’s appointment, say — enter Hours instead of an end date so it doesn’t use up a whole day of your balance.
4. Track it
It shows as Pending on the Requests page until your manager (or HR) approves or declines it. Either way you’ll get an email, and approved time appears on the team Calendar automatically.
5. Check who else is out before you book
The Calendar shows the whole team (or your department) so you can avoid asking for the same week a colleague already has off.
Getting started as an admin
The short version: create your company, add departments if you need them, set your leave types and holidays on the Policies page, then invite your team last so everyone lands with the right allowance and role from day one.
The full setup guide walks through each step and the early decisions worth getting right — departments, leave types, and roles — before your team starts using it.
