Doctor Eyecare is a primary eye care practice on Skillman Street in Dallas, open six days a week. We asked them how they handle time off, and what has changed since they started using Leavly.

Tell us a little about yourself and your business.

I’m an optometrist, and Doctor Eyecare is a local primary eye care office. We provide full vision exams, diagnose and treat eye conditions, and help our patients with glasses and contact lenses. Our focus is making every visit comfortable and on time, and that depends on having the right people in the office every day. We’re open Monday through Saturday, so staying on top of who’s in and who’s out really matters.

How did you first hear about Leavly?

I found it online, through either a Google search or ChatGPT. I was looking for a simple way to manage time-off requests, and Leavly came up.

What does managing time off look like for you now versus before?

Before Leavly, we used a paper calendar. It worked, but it had its problems. It only existed in one place, it wasn’t always clear who had asked for which day, and it was easy for two people to want the same day off without anyone noticing.

Now we have one place where requests come in and everyone can see them. We’re still getting the whole team on board, and I know it will get even better once everyone is fully using it. But it’s already clear that this is a much better way to work than paper.
